🇮🇩 Versi Bahasa Indonesia: Kalkulator HPL Kehamilan
When is your baby due? This free due date calculator estimates your due date from the first day of your last menstrual period, your conception date, or your IVF embryo transfer date. It also shows how many weeks pregnant you are, your trimester, and key pregnancy milestones.

Estimate your due date and how far along you are
This is an estimate. Only a small share of babies arrive exactly on the due date. Your doctor or midwife may adjust it based on an ultrasound.
How Is the Due Date Calculated?
Most doctors and midwives estimate the due date as 280 days (40 weeks) after the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), assuming a 28-day cycle. This calculator uses exactly that method and adjusts it if your cycle is longer or shorter: for a 32-day cycle, the due date moves 4 days later.
A quick manual shortcut is Naegele's rule: take the first day of your last period, add 7 days, subtract 3 months, and add 1 year. Because months have different lengths, Naegele's rule can differ from the 280-day count by a few days. Both are estimates, and the difference is not medically significant.
Other Ways to Estimate the Due Date
| Method | Formula |
|---|---|
| Last menstrual period (28-day cycle) | LMP + 280 days |
| Conception date | Conception + 266 days |
| IVF, day-5 embryo transfer | Transfer date + 261 days |
| IVF, day-3 embryo transfer | Transfer date + 263 days |
| First-trimester ultrasound | Based on the baby's measurements; considered the most accurate early in pregnancy |
Pregnancy Trimesters
- First trimester: weeks 1 to 13. The baby's organs begin to form.
- Second trimester: weeks 14 to 27. Many people first feel the baby move around weeks 18 to 22.
- Third trimester: week 28 until birth. The baby gains weight and gets ready to be born.
Pregnancy weeks are counted from the first day of your last period, not from conception, so you are already considered about 2 weeks pregnant at conception.
How Accurate Is a Due Date?
A due date is only an estimate. Only a small share of babies arrive exactly on their due date; most are born within about two weeks before or after it. A pregnancy is considered full term from 37 weeks. Your healthcare provider may adjust the due date after an ultrasound, especially if your cycles are irregular or you are unsure of your last period.
When to Contact Your Doctor or Midwife
Seek care promptly if you have vaginal bleeding, severe abdominal pain, leaking fluid, reduced baby movements, a severe headache with blurred vision, or regular contractions before 37 weeks. Keep up with your routine prenatal appointments.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't remember my last period?
Use the conception method if you know the date, or ask your provider to date the pregnancy with an ultrasound. Early ultrasounds estimate gestational age quite accurately.
Why is my doctor's due date different?
Your doctor may have adjusted it based on an ultrasound. If there is a difference, follow the due date from your healthcare provider.
